In statements to the Egyptian television, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossam Zaki said the mechanism does not include the route determined by the Life-Line convoy, led British lawmaker George Galloway.
Under the mechanism, aid convoys should enter through El-Arish port not Nuweiba port as the Life-Line wants, Zaki said.
The spokesman denied that Egypt prevented aid convoys from access into the strip in the past, citing Egyptian efforts during last year's Gaza war to deliver aid supplies to the enclave.
Zaki asserted that media pressure by the Life-Line organizers would not change the Egyptian mechanism.
Earlier in the day, a spokesperson for the Egyptian foreign ministry denied statements by the organizers that they have not received a response from Egypt on access into the strip.
