On the 3rd of May, it has been ten years since the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2286 on protecting health care in conflict. To mark this milestone, Insecurity Insight launches an interactive global platform documenting attacks on health care.
Data from Insecurity Insight shows that since 07 October 2023 and 14 April 2026:
- Over 3252 attacks on health care recorded
- 777 health workers killed and 673 arrested
- Health facilities damaged over 471 times
- 61 attacks on maternal health care services
- 150 attacks where armed drones affected health care
The data collected by Insecurity Insight highlights how violence against health care is becoming normalised, with serious consequences for civilians, disease response and health systems.
