Insecurity Insight identified 408 incidents in 31 countries and territories where aid workers were killed, injured, kidnapped or arrested (KIKA) between 01 January and 30 November 2024. In these incidents, 302 aid workers were killed, 235 injured, 73 kidnapped and 199 arrested. Most aid worker arrest incidents were reported in the occupied Palestinian territory. Arrests and detentions increased in Sudan in May when 17 aid volunteers were reportedly detained by the RSF in Khartoum and accused of working as SAF intelligence. Cases also increased in Myanmar in October including eight aid workers who were arrested by Myanmar junta security forces in plain clothes on accusations of passing information about the junta to the PDF.
