Aid Stopped. Violence Hasn't. This Aid in Danger News Briefs was part of our USAID funded project. Following the Stop Work Order, we are funding this information product purely out of Insecurity Insight’s limited reserves unrelated to US funding and through staff volunteer efforts. We believe that continuity in reporting on humanitarian security risks is essential for saving lives and will do everything we can to maintain our work through this funding crisis but urgently need restored or new sources of funding to continue to deliver on our mission long-term.

Tracking Aid Narratives on Social Media: Recent Observations from the Sahel:
This new briefing series analyses social media activity, assessing observed narratives based on 12 months of systematic social media monitoring in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

Highlights from the latest edition covering 09-16 March:
Between 09 and 16 March, 129 social media posts generated 430 comments in Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. 65% of the discussions largely centred around WFP funding cuts, with many framing food aid as a barrier to self-sufficiency, while a smaller portion expressed concern over its impact on vulnerable populations. Engagement with UN agencies, LNGOs and INGOs remained low. Discussions on USAID’s aid freeze continued to decline but retained negative sentiment.
