HIGHLIGHTS

In this reporting month, July, 2019:

  • Two hundred and ninety-one (291) suspected cases were recorded. § NCDC Central Public Health Laboratory (CPHL) reported 15 presumptive positive cases from Anambra - 3 [Awka North (1), Awka South (1), Ekwusigo (1) LGAs] Imo - 1[Ideato South (1) LGA], Edo State – 6 ( Etsako East (1), Orhionmwon (1), IkpobaOkha (2), Uhunmwode (2) LGAs], Oyo -1 [Ibadan South East (1) LGA, Osun - 1[Atakunmosa East (1) LGA], Ondo -3 (Akure North (1), Ondo West (1), Akoko North West (1) LGAs] and 18 inconclusive cases from Anambra -1 [Awka North (1) LGA], Cross River -1 [Akampka (1) LGA], Edo -1 (Etsako East(1) LGA], Ogun -2 [Ogun Waterside (1), Ado Odo/Ota (1) LGAs], Enugu - 4 [Aninri (1), Nkanu West (1), UzoUwani (2) LGAs], Osun -1 [Boluwaduro (1) LGA], Rivers -2 [Gokona (1), Omumma (1) LGAs], Abia – 1 (Arochukwu LGA) and Ondo -5 [Akoko South East (1), Akoko North West (1), Akure North (1), Okitipupa (1) and Idanre (1) LGAs].

  • The NCDC National Reference Laboratory (NRL), Gaduwa confirmed 3 new cases using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for cases from Izzi Local Government Area (LGA) Ebonyi State.

  • Last Laboratory confirmed cases from Ebonyi were on 22nd July, 2019.

  • Twenty-one States (21) have recorded at least one confirmed case of yellow fever since the beginning of the outbreak in September, 2017.

  • Yellow fever response activities are being coordinated by the Yellow Fever Technical Working Group (YF TWG).
