WFP Nigeria Situation Report - March 2026

Attachments

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

• Food insecurity persists as insecurity, climate shocks and economic pressures intensify, severely restricting humanitarian access and deepening hunger as the country approaches the period when food insecurity and acute malnutrition typically peak.

• In March, WFP was unable to deliver food assistance to affected communities. However, WFP continued the management of moderate acute malnutrition across health facilities, using specialised nutritious foods.

• With resources received, WFP will resume food distributions in April across eight pre-agreed locations in Yobe and Borno.
