As for 03 March 2016, the situation of food shortages in camps and host communities as reported by FAO state based consultants and with verification from NEMA and SEMA, is as follow:
- In Adamawa six (6) IDP camps and/or host communities with 9006 persons, are currently experiencing cases of food shortages (NYSC Damare, Malkohi, Fufure, Malkohi host community, Daware host community, ST. Thereza Cathedral, Yongo, Yolde Pate and Vunoklang Communities). Also the villages victims of Koh 7th February,2016 communal clash (Koh, Dikkijam, Tabongo, Jatan, Dyemsare, Gerang) are in need of food.
- in Borno State a total of 79,795 persons in 12 camps all in Maiduguri, are currently experiencing cases of food/or condiment shortages and the ATC CAMP it’s a matter of payment of the kitchens cooks monthly allowance to avoid stopping of cooking in the camp. These camps are: Dalori II, GGC Camp, Madinatu, Goni Kachallari, EYN/CAN Camp, Teacher’s village camp, Gov’t College camp, NYSC CAMP, Sanda Kyarimi camp, Farm Centre camp, Bakasi camp, and ATC camp.
- In Yobe state three (3) camps all in Damaturu LGA, are concerned with the food shortages with a total of over 5000 IDPs for Pompommari and Ali Ibn Ngangaran and 12000 Households in Kukareta. The camps of Ali Gombe Farm and Abbari Camps are still to be assessed.
