Northeast Nigeria Sectoral Needs and Risk Analysis (SNRA) Overview 2024 - Accountability for Affected Population and Durable Solution

Attachments

Background

Northeast Nigeria faces significant humanitarian needs as the Lake Chad conflict enters its 15th year. The 2024 Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO)1 identifies 7.9 million people in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY states) requiring assistance. Access challenges have hindered accurate assessment of needs, while ongoing camp closures, conflict, and restricted access emphasize the urgency of evi- dence-based planning.

Fact Foundation (FACT), in coordination with the As- sessment and Analysis Working Group (AAWG) and the Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG), con- ducted a SNRA household level2 survey across the BAY states. Stakeholders participated in a second- ary data review to address information gaps and provided feedback on the methodology.

SNRA data collection was conducted by Partner organisations, with Cordination by FACT, OCHA, and Caritas Nigeria through the AAWG. This approach was adopted to increase the shared ownership of the data while expanding in-person coverage, even in a challenging operational context.
