KEY HIGHLIGHTS
The humanitarian situation in the reception centers (RC) located in Pulka, Ngala, Bama, Banki, Gwoza, Monguno, and Dikwa remains severe, with the six out of the seven RC hosting a total of 23,264 individuals, representing 8,749 households operating at overstretched capacity. This has increased the vulnerability of the displaced population, as the majority lives in crowded spaces with limited access to basic services, thus heightening health and protection concerns. Flooding receded in most locations during this period, projecting a trail of destruction in most reception centers. 654 new arrivals were recorded during this period, a decrease from the previous month, with Bama (192), Pulka (130), Banki (92) and Ngala (85), receiving the highest numbers. Children and women remain the majority. During this period, a total of 3,830 HHs and 2,148 HHs needed shelter and NFI responses, respectively, across the seven reception centres. Lack of basic services in areas of return/relocation including food, source of livelihood, safety and security, unresolved HLP issues, relocation to different neighbouring camps, and a general lack of access to humanitarian assistance remained as some of the main drivers of population movement into reception centers.
