KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The humanitarian situation in the reception centers (RC) in Pulka, Ngala, Bama, Banki, Gwoza, Monguno, and Dikwa remains critical, with 24,189 individuals, or 8,820 households, being hosted. Similar to the previous reporting period, six out of the seven RCs are operating beyond their capacity, with the majority of internally displaced persons (IDPs) having stayed in the centers for months. This overcrowding has heightened the vulnerability of the displaced population, as most reside in cramped conditions with limited access to essential services, thereby increasing health and protection risks.

During this period, 352 new arrivals were recorded, marking a decrease from the previous month. The highest numbers of new arrivals were in Monguno (77), Pulka (76), Gwoza (54), and Dikwa (52). The majority of these new arrivals are children and women. A total of 3,771 households required shelter, and 2,240 households needed non-food item (NFI) responses. This represents an increase in these needs across the seven reception centers.

The lack of basic services in areas of return or relocation, such as food, sources of livelihood, safety and security, unresolved housing, land, and property (HLP) issues, relocation to different neighboring camps, and a general lack of access to humanitarian assistance, remained some of the main drivers of population movement into reception centers.
