Overview
Between 1 January and 31 December 2025, the Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) was activated in 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States of Northeast Nigeria.. During this period, seven Rapid Needs Assessments (RNAs) were conducted to identify immediate humanitarian needs following sudden-onset shocks. The responses primarily addressed flooding, conflict-related incidents, and cholera outbreaks, which were the most frequently reported shocks. A total of 186,170 people—predominantly host community members and internally dis-placed persons (IDPs) residing in camps—received life-saving assistance through 15 RRM, partners. Women and girls accounted for approximately 56.6 per cent of the total population reached, reflecting a strong focus on gender-responsive humanitarian assistance. Humanitarian interventions focused mainly on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI), Nutrition, and Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA), food distribution alongside other critical sectoral support.
