SITUATION OVERVIEW

In the first quarter of 2024, the Nigeria Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) received $111 million, which represents approximately 12% of the $926.7 million required to address the critical needs of 4.4 million people affected by conflict in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states. Despite the limited funding, the response reached 1.5 million individuals, accounting for about 34% of the targeted population. This included 0.5 million IDPs, 0.3 million returnees, and 0.7 million from host communities. This achievement highlights the collective efforts of donors and the 132 partners, including 7 UN agencies, 32 international NGOs, 80 national NGOs, and 13 government partners. Continued success, however, hinges on securing additional funding to sustain and expand these vital humanitarian operations.
