On 29 June, heavy rainfall impacted the communities of Wovi and Garjang, as well as the town of Gumsun in Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State, north-eastern Nigeria, causing flooding and resulting in casualties and damage.

According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), two people died, 19 were injured, and 73 others were affected. Additionally, numerous houses were damaged.

National and local authorities are providing emergency responses to support those impacted.
