Between 21 and 27 July 2025, 1,875 new IDP, returnee and farmer arrivals were recorded in locations across Borno State. The new arrivals were found in Askira/Uba, Bama, Bayo, Biu, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Kaga, Kala Balge, Kwaya/Kusar, Monguno and Shani local government areas (LGAs). The ETT assessments identified the following movement triggers: attack (1,590 individuals or 85%), fear of attack (144 individuals or 8%), improved security in place of origin (84 individuals or 4%), poor living conditions (38 individuals or 2%), family reunifications (15 individuals or 1%) and military operations (4 individuals or less than 1%). The new arrivals comprised 1,239 children (66%), 420 women (22%), and 216 men (12%). Approximately 20 per cent originated from inaccessible locations (hard to reach due to insecurity), while the remaining 80 per cent came from accessible areas.
