Nigeria: Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) - Summary of Movements in Borno State, Dashboard: 522 (12–18 January 2026)

Between 12 and 18 January 2026, 268 new arrivals were recorded in locations across Borno State. Among the new arrivals, 212 were IDPs and 56 were returnees. The new arrivals were found in Askira/Uba, Bama, Chibok, Damboa, Gwoza, Kala Balge, Monguno and Ngala local government areas (LGAs).

The ETT assessments identified the following movement triggers: fear of attack (116 individuals, 43%), improved security in place of origin (70 individuals, 26%), poor living conditions (44 individuals, 16%), attacks (26 individuals, 10%) and family reunification (12 individuals, 4%).

The new arrivals comprised 164 children (61%), 77 women (29%), and 27 men (10%).
