Highlights
• The World Food Programme (WFP)-led ETS has submitted a funding appeal to the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) for 2025 service continuity. Additionally, the sector hosted a contingent from the European Union (EU) and ECHO on 26 March for a routine project monitoring visit. In 2025, the ETS funding requirement is USD 1.2 million to ensure uninterrupted services are being provided to the humanitarian actors.
• The Public Announcement System in Bama’s camp, deployed by the ETS, is continuously used to communicate critical information to the Internally Displaced People (IDPs). The information includes access to humanitarian assistance and security incidents to ensure the safety of the IDPs. The ETS has now handed over the system to the State Emergency Management Authority on 06 March.
• On March 5, the ETS completed a maintenance mission to Pulka, finalizing the deployment of the new security communications system (SCS) and fixing the VHF repeater transmission issues. The ETS also provided basic VHF user training for partners. You can see the full story here.
