The security situation in northeast Nigeria remains volatile impacting on access to population caught in the conflict between insurgents and the government forces. Attacks on communities in the northeast Nigeria occurred at nearly a daily pace in January 2015, with an increasing degree of violence and humanitarian consequences. Borno State remains the epicenter of the insurgency.
