Intersectoral Response Overview
Partners Intersectorally achieved 64% of their target, reaching 2.8 million individuals out of a goal of 4.4 million. This outcome highlights resource constraints and the necessity for collaborative efforts to address the significant gaps in the diverse needs of affected communities. Moreover, 2024 marked the lowest percentage of individuals reached against the set target over the past four years, underscoring the urgent need for strategic interventions.
Notably, 53% of those reached are from Borno State, with 66% classified under sectoral severity level 3 and 28% under severity level 4.
Examining the trend of Intersectoral people reached over the past years, a noticeable decline in the percentage of individuals reached over the years observed: starting at 91% in 2021, it remained high at 90% in 2022 but decreased to 81% in 2023, ultimately dropping to 63% in 2024. This downward trajectory emphasizes the need for renewed focus and resources to effectively enhance outreach and tackle ongoing challenges.
The funding landscape has exacerbated these issues; the Intersectoral requirement in 2024 was $926.5 million but have only secured $544.2 million, achieving approximately 58% of the requested funding. This significant funding shortfall is a critical factor contributing to the decrease in the number of people reached, highlighting the pressing need for increased resources to meet these needs.
