Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state was again rocked by multiple explosions suspected to be bomb blasts on Easter Sunday and Monday
The blasts which occured in different parts of the metropolis will be the sixth of such explosions in Maiduguri in the last three weeks of the general elections in the state.
Unconfirmed reports said the latest explosions which began on Sunday night and peaked with another one on Monday morning led to the death of about three people.
The bomb disposal unit of the state command of Nigeria Police was said to have been drafted to the scene of the blasts while the Commissioner of police is expected to address the press shortly on the explosions coming barely 24 hours to the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
The state police command has however confirmed the death of three people including a police corporal saying two lives were lost to the Sunday blasts while one casualty was recorded in Monday's incident.
The police also said 14 people sustained serious injuries from the explosions and are currently receiving treatment in the hospitals.
