On 03 April 2025, armed bandits attacked the communities of Garin Faji, Garin Abara and Kimba village of Makuwana ward in Sabon Birni local government area (LGA) of Sokoto State.
The attack affected 800 individuals from 170 households, forcing them to seek refuge in Ungwar Lalle primary school camp in Ungwar Lalle ward of Sabon Birni LGA. Four people lost their lives, while 15 sustained injuries. Among the displaced were 448 children, 228 women and 124 men.
