Introduction
The Cash Barometer is an independent accountability mechanism that allows cash recipients to provide feedback on cash and voucher assistance (CVA) and participate in decision-making. This is done through human-centred research such as user journey analysis, surveys and ongoing dialogue between humanitarian actors and cash recipients. The project began in 2017 with pilot surveys in Afghanistan,
Kenya and Turkey, to understand people’s perceptions of the cash they receive and its impact on their lives. In the next phase of the Cash Barometer we are building in user-journey methodology initially piloted in Iraq and Kenya, to fully understand the experience of recipients along their cash journey, as well as expanding our collaboration with cash recipients and humanitarian actors to strengthen the dialogue phase.
Over the next two years, with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, and working with onthe-ground partners, Ground Truth Solutions will be rolling out the Cash Barometer in two new countries,
Nigeria and a second to be confirmed.
