Due to violent attacks in the Far North Region of Cameroon by NonState Armed Groups, populations began fleeing to Adamawa State in June 2022. Following a group or household pre-registration (L1) of over 22,200 individuals, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Adamawa State Emergency Agency (ADSEMA) and other key protection partners, with the support of UNHCR, initiated Individual Basic Registration (L2) in May 2023. This aims to further support ongoing efforts to ensure that the needs of host communities, internally displaced persons, and refugees are addressed in an integrated manner in Nigeria's Northeast region. The region is already facing a humanitarian crisis, and the pressure on the vulnerable host community necessitates interventions to promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
