SUMMARY: Between 19 May and 1 June, 355 social media posts related to the aid sector across Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso generated a total of 423 comments. This represents a 76% decline in engagement compared to the previous monitoring period (12–18 May), when online conversations were highly active in response to UN criticism of Mali’s suspension of political parties. During the current period, engagement was more moderate. Negative sentiment primarily centred on reactions to the Nigerien president’s statement justifying the expulsion of the ICRC, as well as continued criticism of UNHCR’s operations in Agadez, Niger.
