According to the Education Cluster, 44 primary schools have reopened countrywide. Among them, 35 schools are in Tillaberi, region that registers the highest number of schools closures due to conflict in Niger.

Even though the Direction Régional de l'Enseignement National (DREN) is prioritizing school reopening, the numbers remain alarming: 958 primary schools remain closed, out of 17,977 countrywide, leaving 81,510 children out of school. In Tillaberi only, 891 primary schools are closed on 2,824 total schools in the region (i.e. 31.5%).
