The International Organization for Migration (IOM), through its Flow Monitoring (FM) tool, which is part of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), collects data at key entry, exit, and transit points to better understand population movements across West and Central Africa. Flow Monitoring aims to quantify and characterize migration ows, migrants' prole, and document their experiences and migratory routes.
Since 2016, several ow monitoring points have been progressively established in key locations across Niger to track migratory movements within the country. The data collection period for this report took place from 1 to 31 March 2025 in order to capturing migration trends observed throughout that period. The data collection team consisted of twenty-ve (25) enumerators, including twenty-four (24) men and one (1) woman. Data is collected daily between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m, which corresponds to the hours when the highest number of travelers transit through the Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs).
