WHO Nepal Earthquake Health Update - Situation Report No. 1: 26 April 2015

  • Received from different sources that the death figure crossed 1931 and casualties more 4627 received by different hospitals.

  • 35 districts out of 75 districts are affected.

  • 11 districts are priority for health intervention ie Gorkha, Dhading, Raswa,Sindupalchowk, Kavre, Nuwakot, Dolkha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktpur, Ramechhap.

  • Road connecting to Easter Region from Dhankuta is damaged

  • Many houses were collapsed on affected districts

  • Regular CNDRC meeting called by MOHA to review the response coordination.

  • Regular cluster meeting chaired by Joint Secretaries, MOHA at MOHA

  • Already requested international support including military support from India and China for this response

  • Command post has been setup under the lead of Home Secretary with secretaries from other ministries
