Geographical Distribution

Mid-Inner terai and the mid hill of Nepal.

Summary

NPPO- Nepal collected the samples of suspected FAW larvae, adults and pupa from mid inner Terai, Sindhupalchok and Kavre district of Nepal and molecular analysis was done in the ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Banglore, India. The report found positive for Spodoptera frugiperda. On the based of a molecular analysis report, NPPO- Nepal would like to declare that Spodoptera frugiperda has been introduced in Nepal.
