Nepali Army asks civilians not to kill guerrillas

KATHMANDU, Jul 27, 2005 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- The Royal Nepal Army (RNA) Wednesday asked civilians not to kill the anti-government guerrillas in retaliation.

"It would be proper for the civilians to hand over such criminals to the security forces for legal action instead of taking law in one's own hand," the RNA Public Relations Directorate said in a press release.

Annoyed and enraged by the guerrillas, the local people of the southern part of Dhading district and northern part of Makwanpur district killed seven guerrillas last Saturday, the army said.

Local people have been enraged by the guerrillas who intimidate them to pay taxes to them as well as to offer food and shelter for them, the army added.
