Nepal - Severe weather (Government of Nepal, NOAA-CPC, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 2 July 2025)

  • Since 28 May and the start of the rainy season, Nepal has been experiencing heavy monsoon-related rainfall resulting in floods and landslides, accompanied by lightning and windstorms. These severe monsoon-related incidents caused significant loss of life and extensive damage.
  • According to media as of 2 July, 31 people died, mostly due to lightning and floods, while 151 were injured within the month of June 2025. 1,026 families were affected, 97 houses damaged, and 222 livestock have perished.
  • On 2 July, only light rainfall is forecast across Nepal, while 3 July brings moderate with isolated heavy rainfall.
