Since 28 May and the start of the rainy season, Nepal has been experiencing heavy monsoon-related rainfall resulting in floods and landslides, accompanied by lightning and windstorms. These severe monsoon-related incidents caused significant loss of life and extensive damage.
According to media as of 2 July, 31 people died, mostly due to lightning and floods, while 151 were injured within the month of June 2025. 1,026 families were affected, 97 houses damaged, and 222 livestock have perished.
On 2 July, only light rainfall is forecast across Nepal, while 3 July brings moderate with isolated heavy rainfall.
