Nepal - Severe Weather (DRR portal, Meteorological Forecasting Division - Nepal) (ECHO Daily Flash of 26 May 2025)

  • Over the past week, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds have affected parts of Nepal, causing severe weather-related incidents, floods and landslides, resulting in casualties and damage.
  • According to the Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) portal, four people have died due to severe weather-related incidents. Additionally, a total of 135 families have been affected by floods, severe weather, and landslides across at least 15 districts.
  • Moderate rainfall with localised thunderstorms is expected across most parts of Nepal over the next 24 hours.
