This report is produced by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) in collaboration with sectoral ministries, departments, provincial and local governments. It covers the situation of floods and landslides due to the heavy rainfall across the country from 26-28 September until 16 October 2024.
Highlights
1) As of 16 October, the total number of deaths has reached 250 that includes 76 females, 114 males, and 60 children, with 18 individuals still missing and 178 reported injured.
2) More than 17,000 people have been rescued through various rescue operations that deployed more than 30 thousand security personnel.
3) The Nepal Government has declared 71 municipalities across 20 districts as disaster crisis/emergency zones due to the severe impacts of landslides and floods.
4) Bagmati Province has distributed NPR 58 Million from the Provincial Disaster Management Fund to support 45 disaster crisis/emergency municipalities.
