An outbreak of diarrhoea has been reported in various VDCs and Hetauda Municipality area in Makawanpur district.
According to the District Hospital, Hetauda, around 45 people suffering from diarrhoea are visiting the hospital every day.
Mostly, infant, children and elderly people are affected by diarrhoea, it is learnt.
Medical Superintendent at the hospital, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Singh told RSS that the number of diarrhoea patients has increased in villages and municipality area due to consumption of contaminated water as pond, well and other source of water started drying up and water has become polluted.
Chief at the District Public Health Office, Madhusudan Koirala, said that health workers are now in a ready position with necessary medicines at different health institutions to bring the disease under control by providing treatment service immediately to the diarrhoea patients visiting the health institutions.
