Denmark supports the transitional justice process in Nepal

On 30 April Denmark, Switzerland, the UK and Norway signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning contributions to a basket fund to support transitional justice efforts in Nepal.

The objective of the basket fund is to support transitional justice efforts that contribute to truth-seeking, protection of the right to remedy and reparations of victims, and countering impunity as key elements of long-term peacebuilding and Rule of Law.

The basket fund will support the implementation of transitional justice activities carried out by the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ).

Through the support Denmark will contribute to promoting transitional justice in Nepal as stipulated in the Comprehensive Peace Accord.
