NAY PYI TAW, 17 Jan- According to proposal to keep the peace by the government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, in order to designate territory and open economic and liaison offices, Union level peacemaking group and RCSS/ SSA peace-making group met at the office of Shan State government in Taunggyi on 16 January.
The Union level peacemaking group included Union Minister for Rail Transportation U Aung Min, Union Minister for Environmental Conservation and Forestry U Win Tun, Union Minister for Electric Power No.2 U Khin Maung Soe, Shan State Chief Minister U Sao Aung Myat, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Maj-Gen Zaw Win, Deputy Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo, Shan State Security and Border Affairs Minister Col Aung Thu, Col Kyaw Soe Win of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), General Staff Officer (Grade-1) Lt-Col Zaw Min Aye of Central East Command, General Staff Officer (Grade-1) Lt-Col Zaw Tun Myint of Triangle Region Command and RCSS/SSA peace-making group was headed by U Sai Baung Khe.
Union Minister U Aung Min made a speech first, and Union Minister U Win Tun explained economic condition and Union Minister U Khin Maung Soe territorial designation and opening of liaison offices.
U Sai Baung Khe discussed territorial designation. Next, Union Minister U Aung Min vowed to deal with reports.
Union level peacemaking group and RCSS/ SSA peace-making group signed 11 initial agreements.
After that, Union Minister U Aung Min and U Sai Baung Khe exchanged notes and had documentary photo taken.
