At the ceremony held in Myitkyina City Hall, PRC Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Hong Liang said that during the day’s trip the embassy is providing Ks 160 million worth of rice, cooking oil and materials such as blankets, Ks 12 million worth of medicine to displaced persons in the three townships of Sumprabum, Putao and Machanbaw. It is expected that this efforts could raise the socio-economic and health care situation of the people said the Ambassador.
Next, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye and Peace Commission Chairman Dr. Tin Myo Win delivered speeches followed by State Chief Minister Dr. Khet Aung saying words of appreciation.
Afterwards Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye, Peace Commission Chairman Dr. Tin Myo Win, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Hong Liang and State Chief Minister Dr. Khet Aung presented food and support materials for displaced persons and medicines for Kachin State Free Medical Treatment Foundation which were accepted by representatives of the displaced persons.
Following this, Kachin State Chief Minister presented a certificate of honour to the Ambassador of China.
A representative of the displaced people and officials from Kachin State Free Medical Treatment Foundation then expressed words of thanks and posed for a commemorative group photo.
The ceremony was attended by State government ministers, state level officials and displaced persons.
Later in the evening Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye, officials from state government and Ambassador of China visited a KBC displaced person camp.
