Peace Process highlights and International Aids

  1. Ongoing Armed clashes escalated in Kachin and Northern Shan State - both Myanmar Army and EAOs — (Non-NCA), Myanmar Army and RCSS (NCA-S)

  2. The third session of Union Peace Conference - 21st Century Panglong scheduled in late November or early December 2017.

  3. Chairman of UNFC calls for dialogues to be simplified to three essential parties: the government, the political parties and the ethnic armed organizations.

  4. State Counsellor and KBC leaders met for discussing IDPs and Peace Process in Kachin State

  5. Tatmadaw calls Off the CSSU Meeting in Thailand. Member of CSSU, RCSS/SSA (NCA-S) yet still not permitted to ogranize National-level dialogue in Shan State.

  6. Myanmar Lower Parliament rejected the report of Rakhine incidents from UN Human Rights envoy on the 6th mission to visit Myanmar.

  7. One of the largest single amount worth MMK 60 bn (US$44 million) of drugs along with 380 million kyats worth of gold were seized in Mandalay.

  8. World Bank aid assistance to Myanmar for 24 projects reached $2.08bn. Myanmar and the World Bank Group have extended two more years until 2019 agreement up to USS1.2 billion

  9. The Australian Government announced funding S16 million to provide assistance for education, health services, shelter and livelihood support for affected communities.

  10. The German government has granted subsidies worth 1.85 million Euros (about 2.1 million US-Dollars) for humanitarian aid in Rakhine State.
