May 16, 2008 (UPDATE) -- MAF's Brad Hazlett is in Myanmar, after having obtained a visa, and is connecting with potential partners on the ground while pursuing permissions to operate.

In the meantime, John Woodberry is in route to Dhaka, Bangladesh, to assist with permissions and preparations there.

MAF's Bangladesh team has been busy working on aircraft inspections in order to be ready to respond when possible. Several MAF engineers from around the world have arrived to make sure the aircraft is ready to respond, once permission is granted.

The Papua Caravan aircraft is on floats and on standby.

Please continue to pray that visas and permissions come, so MAF can assist with the much-needed relief efforts.
