KEY FINDINGS

  • Food prices fell 4% in in November due to lower prices for vegetables and essential foods;
  • Vegetable and essential food prices fell 5% and 12%, respectively, likely driven by increased winter supply;
  • NFI prices rose just 2% in November, although medicine prices rose 11% and erased October's reductions;
  • Rice prices fell 5-7% and pulses fell 13%, and many other foods and NFIs shifted up or down 5-10%;
  • Price rose sharply in Paletwa—possibly due to irregular village supply—but they were fairly stable elsewhere;
  • The total basket price was 100% higher year-on-year, but prices were rising far slower than at this time last year.
