KEY FINDINGS
• The food basket rose 13% on supply disruptions, particularly for food items from Sagaing Region;
• Vegetables and essential foods jumped 27% and 13%, respectively, but other sub-baskets were more stable;
• Rice, cooking oil, and pulses each rose 6% or more in October, and higher-quality rice rose 16%;
• Prices increased most sharply in Pakokku, driven by vegetables and essential foods;
• The total basket price rose 6% month-on-month, but it remained fairly close to where it stood in August;
• Conflict-related supply troubles will likely drive prices again in November, particularly for food items.
