kawlin, 11 Aug—Local authorities are coordinating the rehabilitation of more than 3,000 acres of flood-affected land in seven villages of Kawlin Township. Chairman of the Katha District Management Committee U Kyaw Kyaw Ohn and officials are prioritizing the cleaning of wells and repairing of roads and bridges, as well as the reopening of basic education schools. They have provided 11,822 baskets of paddy seeds for replanting. The Agricultural Mechanization Department has ploughed farmlands free of charge. Electrical workers of the township repaired a transformer to restore the electricity supply, while also replacing 500 electric meters.
