Food supplies for local people in Putao airlifted

Nay Pyi Taw, 8 Feb- The Government provided local people in Putao region in Kachin State with rice, oil, and salt yesterday.

The 240 bags of rice, 30 barrels of oil, and twelve bags of salt worth K 2,540,000 were airlifted from Yangon to Putao yesterday afternoon. Arrangements have been made to continue airlifting medicine and medical equipment to Putao.

Altogether 1,500 tons of rice, 195 tons of salt, 195 tons of onion, 39 tons of garlic are being sent to Myitkyina by train at the request of the Kachin State government for rainy season starting from 30 January, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
