- Approximately 19.9 million people will require humanitarian assistance in Burma in 2025, according to the 2025 UN HNRP. The HNRP highlighted protection needs as particularly critical, targeting 4 million people with protection assistance.
- Ongoing AA–MAF hostilities have resulted in civilian deaths and destruction of property, displacing at least 373,000 individuals from Rakhine State and Chin State’s Paletwa Township between November 2023 and September 2024, according to the UN.
- Despite significant access constraints, humanitarian actors reached more than 234,600 flood-affected people with food assistance, IFRC reports.
