Insecurity Insight identified 1507 incidents of violence against or obstruction of health care in Myanmar since the military coup on 01 February 2021 and 29 October 2024. In these incidents, health facilities have been damaged 332 times, 130 health workers have been killed, 135 injured and 39 kidnapped.

Documented incidents
31 October 2024: In Kan Chaung village and village tract, Saw township, Gangaw district, Magway region, a rural health centre and at least five houses were damaged by bombs dropped by the Myanmar military aircraft. The window glasses of the health facility were broken. The health facility was functioning at the time of the attack. At least four people were injured. Sources: Myaelatt Athan and Radio Free Asia
31 October 2024: At an undisclosed location in Bago region, a military specialist doctor, his wife and child were abducted and detained as prisoners of war by the PDF. The doctor was on his way from his duty station in Dawei town, township and district, Tanintharyi region to Thandaungyi town, township and district, Bago region. 01 November 2024: In Ngaleng village and village tract, Matupi township and district, Chin state, the use of a rural health centre, churches, and houses as base camps and building of trench bunkers at those places by the ethnic armed groups was asked to be ceased and the withdrawal of the troops was requested by a CBO ‘Global Ngaleng Organisation’. The accused ethnic armed groups are the Arakan Army, Chinland Defence Force – Matupi Brigade 1, and Chin Brotherhood. In the photographs, the health facility was seen to have been damaged. As reported on 02 November 2024: In Poe Shi Pyin village and village tract, Ponnagyun township, Sittwe district, Rakhine state, a rural health centre and a station hospital stopped functioning due to heightened armed clashes between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army in the surrounding area. As reported on 03 November 2024: At unidentified locations in Budalin township, Monywa district, Sagaing region, two makeshift clinics had to close and the health workers fled due to a-month-long clearing operation by the Myanmar military in this area. The affected clinics were operated by the government-in-exile. Source: Burma VJ
05 November 2024: In Maw Luu station town, Indaw township, Katha district, Sagaing region, two buildings of a station hospital were severely damaged by bombs dropped by the Myanmar military fighter jet. The hospital was not functioning at the time of the attack. This town has been under the control of local resistance forces since December 2023. As reported on 06 November 2024: In Madaya town and township, Aungmaythazan district, Mandalay region, a township hospital, a school, and a football pitch were occupied by the Myanmar military. Source: Myaelatt Athan
As reported on 10 November 2024: In Ann town, township, and district, Rakhine state, the buildings at a military hospital were damaged due to multiple junta airstrikes. This attack was alleged to target the medical warehouse at the hospital such that the Arakan Army, which had taken over the hospital, would have lost access to medicines and consumables.
