A new Tropical Cyclone named DINEO formed over the Mozambique Channel on 13 February and continues to move west south-west towards southern Mozambique, strengthening. As of 14 February, its centre was located approx. 480 km north-east of the city of Inhambane and it had max. sustained wind speed of 83 km/h. JRC estimations indicate a maximum storm surge height of 0.8 m in Marivate (Inhambane province) for 15 February at 20.00 UTC. Over the next 24 h, it is forecast to continue moving west south-west towards the southern coast of Mozambique, strengthening but remaining a Tropical Storm. Heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect the central and southern areas of Mozambique, as well as Swaziland.
