Mozambique: Six People Drown In Chokwe

MAPUTO, Mozambique (PANA) - At least six people drowned Saturday at the village "Aldeia da Barragem" in Chokwe, in the Southern Mozambican province of Gaza.
The latest deaths take the death toll of flood victims in Gaza to about 45.

According to a Radio Mozambique broadcast Sunday, other people were seen hanging on top of trees to escape the raging waters.

The town of Chokwe, at the heart of the Limpopo Valley irrigated agriculture scheme, was hit by a flood wave travelling down the Limpopo river over the weekend.
