- On 11 July, health authorities in Mozambique confirmed three cases of Mpox in the Lago district of Niassa province, in the north of the country, at the border with Tanzania and the conflict-affected Cabo Delgado Province. As of 15 July, there are 11 suspected cases, with a total of 14 individuals currently in home isolation.
- A technical team from Mozambique's National Directorate of Public Health and the National Institute of Health has been deployed to support the affected province and district, with monitoring, patient treatment, contact tracing, quarantine measures, surveillance, and community awareness.
- In coordination with district and provincial health authorities, humanitarian actors, including DG ECHO partners, are reactivating Mpox preparedness and response interventions, building on the technical and operational groundwork laid since the last Mpox outbreak in 2024.
