This revised Emergency Appeal seeks a total of CHF 1,095,475 to enable the IFRC to support the Mozambique National Red Cross Society (CVM) to deliver assistance and support to 17,620 people (increased from 15,000 people) over a total timeframe of 9 months (increased from 6 months), with a focus on emergency and transitional shelter, health, water and sanitation, National Society capacity building and Disaster Risk Reduction. The revision includes a further expansion of the planned emergency flood relief activities in Nampula and Zambezia Provinces, shelter support to up to 500 selected households, and cholera response activities in Tete, Nampula, Niassa and Zambezia. The total budget also includes CHF 19,809 to support the deployment of a team to support the Emergency Shelter Cluster coordination role. The planned response reflects the current situation and information available at this point of the evolving operation.
