Mozambique: Flash Update No.7 – Heavy rains and floods in central and southern Mozambique, as of 19 February 2026

An estimated 723,000 people have been affected by flooding across southern and central Mozambique, with the majority in Gaza Province.
• Approximately 32,400 people remain in 41 active accommodation centres.
• National response coordination structures remain operational at the INGD compound in Chongoene, Gaza Province.
• Return kit planning and distribution have become a priority as movements out of accommodation centres accelerate.
• Humanitarian partners have reached more than 150,000 people with some form of assistance.
