El Niño-induced drought, flooding, and heightened insecurity have led to deteriorated food security conditions for populations in central and southern Mozambique. An estimated 2.8 million people are at risk of facing Crisis—IPC 3—or worse levels of acute food insecurity between April and September, according to FEWS NET.

NSAG violence and movements intensified and expanded in northern Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado Province between May and September, generating an increase in protection incidents, including abductions, family separation, killings, loss of documentation, movement restrictions, and sexual violence.
