Updates & Context
In Quarter 1 2025, Mozambique continues to face complex, overlapping humanitarian crises, with nearly 1.8 million people affected by Cyclones Chido, Dikeledi, and Jude during the 2024/2025 rain season. Ongoing conflict in Cabo Delgado continues to displace communities and worsen conditions. IPC projections estimate 1.98 million people will face acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 3 or above) from October 2024 to March 2025, driven by factors such as high fuel and food prices, insecurity, and climate shocks.
